Our Model of Learning
Kidz Inc programmes place the student at the centre of their learning situation. They will learn when they need to learn (just-in-time), and act when they need to act. This model of learning keeps them interested and focused on what they really want to do...make things and have fun doing it!
Project Portfolio
At Kidz Inc we cover a wide range of activities such as:
kitemaking, electronics, ceramics, puppetmaking, cooking, musical, instruments, bubble wands, robotics, leatherwork, juggling sticks, enamelling, jewellery and digital film making.
Quality Assurance
Kidz Inc is accredited by Child, Youth and Family (WINZ subsidies available) and all facilitators are carefully selected and have Police clearance.
“Kidz Inc offers a unique, project-orientated, creative holiday programme. Policies and procedures submitted by the programme meet the requirements of the current standards for approval and a site assessment demonstrated full compliance.”

Enrolment Process
Please complete an enrolment form for your child/ren. This provides us with contact details, medical conditions and other duty of care information so we can deliver a quality, safe and supportive environment. Go to the download page for the enrolment form.
Drop off & Pick up
When children are dropped off and picked up, parents or guardians are required to sign in and sign out the child with a signature and the time that they are dropped off and collected.
Payment
Parents are invoiced monthly for the after school OSCAR service. Parents using the holiday programme OSCAR service are invoiced at the commencement of the programme. Discounts are offered if payment by the due date for the holiday programme.
Our preferred method of payment is direct credit into the Kidz Inc bank account. The account details are supplied on the invoice.
For parents seeking long term use of the holiday programme service, there are payment plans available that reduce the cost of the service and spreads the payment over 12 months.
Snacks & Lunches
We encourage healthy eating habits and include cooking and food technology into our activities. On days when the children are required to bring their own lunches we suggest that they have snacks for morning & afternoon tea and a good lunch. An example may be a small yoghurt, piece of fruit, muesli bar, salad type sandwich or bun, and muffin.

WINZ Subsidy Applications
Kidz Inc is approved by Child, Youth and Family therefore, you maybe eligible for WINZ subsidies. WINZ needs to be notified of the start date of the programme before the programme commences. You have 20 days to get the required information to WINZ to ensure the programme is subsidised for your child/ren.
This is called the OSCAR Subsidy (Out of School Care and Recreation Subsidy) and is for children aged 5 to 13 (or up to 18 if they receive a Child Disability Allowance). It helps towards the costs of before and after school care of up to 20 hours a week, and school holiday programmes of up to 50 hours a week.
You could get this subsidy if you:
Are working, doing a work related activity or studying, or
Seriously ill or disabled, or
Paid a Child Disability Allowance for any of your children
To qualify for either subsidy you must also meet these conditions:
• you must be the main caregiver of the child and
• your family must be on a low or middle income (this could be income support) and
• you must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident and
• your child must have at least 3 hours of care a week.
If you don’t know how many hours of care you’ll need each week (because you are a casual or on-call worker for instance), we’ll talk with you about your options when you apply for a subsidy.
How to apply for a subsidy
You can apply for your Accommodation Supplement and/or Childcare Assistance by using the online application form - available on the Working for Families website www.workingforfamilies.govt.nz or you can call Work and Income on 0800 559 009 and they will send you a form to fill in.
You’ll need to get part of the form filled in by the person who runs your Kidz Inc OSCAR service.
Reviews
Work and Income will review your subsidy every 6 months and send you a special form to fill in. Your early childhood programme or OSCAR programme has to fill in part of it to confirm your child’s attendance.
The Childcare Subsidy and holidays
Work and Income will automatically stop all subsidies when the programme you use closes for holidays and restart them when the centre reopens.
The OSCAR Subsidy and school holidays
If you get an OSCAR Subsidy during the year, Work and Income will send you a form 28 days before the end of each school term to ask about your care needs for the school holidays and the next term. Work and Income can pay for more hours of care during the holidays.
